Short Walks

This group sets out to explore the wealth of natural beauty that Wimbledon and its environs have to offer in the company of like-minded, sociable people. Our moniker aims to distinguish us from the other walking groups but, as we typically walk for between an hour and an hour-and-a-half, and cover around three-to-four miles, participants need to be reasonably fit. Since early in 2018, we have been meeting on a fortnightly basis on Saturday mornings at the Wimbledon Windmill for walks, mostly on the Common.  A weekday programme is being developed and the group plans to explore other local open spaces in the summer.

Walkers meet from 09.45 for a prompt 10.00 start at the outside seating area of the Windmill Café on Wimbledon Common.  The café is adjacent to the main car park on the Common. There are loos at the café. Bus route 93, Parkside Hospital stop.
