There are no new events under this heading.

The three-day non-residential 2019 summer school will be from 23 to 25 July and will take place at St Bride Foundation, London. An advance poster is now available. Members can choose to attend for one, two or three days. Cost per day £38 including lunch.

There will be a wide range of subjects on the themes of Art, Current Affairs, History, Literature, Music, Science and Travel -- A choice of 27 different talks, 5 workshops, and 6 guided walks around the City of London. In addition to the topics mentioned, some talks will explore the theme “Celebration of the Sea”. We have once again spread the topics over the three days to create more of a mixture of the daily talks. I am delighted to say that three members of Merton U3A have offered talks again this year - Debbie Chapman, Bernard Collyer and Michael Norman-Smith. There will be at least eighteen speakers who haven’t conducted sessions before at St Brides. As requested in some of last year’s feedback forms, we have asked speakers to offer more interactive sessions, where appropriate.
